Baking day....

Woke up to a very chilly morning today. Had been raining since yesterday. Well, we really need the rain but unfortunately it was mainly at the coastal area, and not in the inland. Poor farmers....
AzD is at school today. Has an appointment to see his supervisors. Been working quite hard these past few days ey dear hubby?? Hehehe... no worries, typical last minute preparation.
Currently waiting patiently for my buttery orange cake. Yuuup....baked a cake this morning. Azdie cakap dah lama tak buat kek. So dengan semangat berkobar2, smlm went out to buy all the ingredients...hehehe.... So now, still dlm proses membakar. Tadi gi skodeng oven jap, nampak mcm gebuuuu je kek tu. Hopefully tak bantat la kek orange ku ittew... la la la la la.....

Easter Show 2007

9 April 2007, pagi2 dah bangun buat bihun goreng untuk bekal nak gi easter show, sebab tahu musti dok situ lama punya.

pukul 9 lebih kak zurin and abg lan sampai, kitorg terus ke train station ke sydney olympic park. first area kitorg melawat ialah tempat binatang. easter show ni mostly pameran agriculture diorg, banyak binatang ternakan macam lembu, kambing, kuda, biri2 dsb. binatang oink-oink yang kaler pink tu pun ada, besar bagak, dengan anak2 dok isap susu... heeei.... omputih ni gemor btul ngan binatang yg satu ni. dalam ramai2 tu aku terdengar la satu suara budak kecik yg cumel, "mommy, where is the piggy mommy? i want to see piggies..." masa tu kat area kambing.

aku suka je tengok binatang2 ni, food production. tapi aku rasa org lain esp elyn takde la minat sangat. so aku tak spent too much time nak baca. lagipun kang dia penat lak berdiri kat situ. tapi rupanya dia tak penat pun, sihat walafiat bila sampai kat area showbag... huhuu... beli cokelet la, beg la, hmmm gemok la lagi aku ni kena makan cokelet... satu lagi habit (bukan habitat) elyn ni apa dia makan dia akan suap kat aku sekali. so since dia dok mengandung ni dia kuat makan sikit, maka makin banyak la makanan yang masuk ke mulut aku bukan atas usaha tangan sendiri...huhuu...

lepas keluar area showbags tu, kami ke area macam funfair. banyak la fun rides mcm roller coaster, pusing2 yg tunggang terbalik tu, ferries wheel etc. kitorg tak naik pun mende tu. first skali main boling kecik, kalau jatuh semua dapat hadiah. elyn nak simpson, tapi aku hanya dapat bantal bentuk anjing. huhu... pagi semalam kitorg letak kat tepi jalan depan rumah dgn tulisan "please take me", kejap je dah lesap.

pastu dah penat, lalu je area arts&craft dan woolworth dome. ada pertandingan susun buah dan sayur. cantik la diorg susun jadi bentuk macam2. labu terbesar, 225kg, nak dekat 4 kali ganda berat elyn.... huhu.. tapi sebab dah penat dan dah nak malam, kitorg pass by je dan terus ke train station untuk pulang ke sarang.... perut pun dah lapar, tak kenyang walopun telan cokelet pelbagai jenis...

Buah kedondong ku sayang....

Salam to everybody...

Lama betul tak update blog. Busy sket last month. Dengan TIDE program IIUM. Walopon 2 hari je benda tuh, tapi penat. Kesian mak buyung, but that's ok janji buat keje and dah selesai dah pun. Hehehe...So dapatlah jumpa dgn a few familiar faces; Itot, Kausa, Nurlin + Saiful, Narina + Aidil + baby Nazhan yg asyik2 tido...minum susu...kena burp..tido.. minum susu...kena burp..bahagia sungguh hidup dia yer...ekekekekeke!

Then next day tu pulak after TIDE ada Postgrad Day aka sukaneka. Disebabkan cuaca mencemburui orang2 yg nak bersukaneka ni, so terpaksalah tukar venue dari Centennial Park ke Mesia Hall. Tapi sambutan tetap hangat di pasaran. Makan pun sedap. Hehehe... Acara dia pulak standard lah like any other sukaneka yg lain ie. tiup belon la, bawak telur dlm sudu la, lawan mkn krispy kreme la (ni takde kat mesia..hehehe), baling belon la etc. Budak2 pun enjoyed themselves nampaknya sebab in the end semua dpt goodie bags. Org tua pun tak kalah, semua pasukan dapat hamper. Hehehe....

Pastu a couple of weeks after that ada first AGM MyPSA pulak. Ni persatuan utk postgrad student kat NSW. Rasa mcm gi persidangan umno pun ada time meeting nih. Hehehehehe.... Protokol..protokol....keh keh keh..


Lepas tu apa lagi ye? ooooo, acara makan2 farewell party utk hendra yg baru2 ni balik ke mesia for good (nih org kuat MyPSA nih....very the rajin, everytime meeting tak tinggal file gedabak dia...thanks hendra..hehehe). Best makan2 kat rumah kak zurin ngan kat umah ustaz. Dengar citer masa kat airport tu ada adegan hujan ye hendra?? hehehe....
Last Saturday pulak gi Wollongong sebab ada BBQ kat Stuart Park. So and so lah. Awat tak tau rasa mcm tak happening and tak semeriah dolu-dolu...agaknya sebab cuaca on that day mandom kot. Ntah...gambar pun tak sempat nak amik.

Semalam gi IKEA...ada clearance sale. Maak aaihh, ramai betul orang. Tapi takde la mengancam sgt keclearance saleannya..mcm biasa2 je. Saje jalan2 kat situ, bosan dok kat rumah. Autumn2 ni asyik depress je rasa...

Apa lagi nak cerita? mcm banyak mengarut je ni.... cerita pun lompat2. takde kaitan langsung, having flight of ideas ke tangentiality ntah....hihihihi....Baby apa khabar? oooo...Baby sihat. Suka buat2 comel benjol sini benjol sana kat perut mak dia. Mak dia pulak sakit belakang malam2 susah nak tido. Bapak dia tido krroohh krroohh.. Ceehh...jeles...tapi takpe sekarang wa bagi chance la dia tido sedap2 ...lepas ni selamat tinggal goodnite sleep..wachhaaa...

Ni ada gambar buah kedondong..eh silap! Gambar bijik buah kedondong...hehehe...tak sempat nak amik gambar buah kedondong versi belum diusik, so tepek gambar bijik dia pun jadilah. Saje je bagi panjang sket blog. Hahahaha....Isi dah kena makan, tak tahan godaan. sedap sedap....beli kat kedai vietnam. Semalam pun mkn best gak. Asam pedas keladi ngan ikan bakar cicah budu + tempoyak..peerrghhh......sedaaap siots. Tapi tak de lak gambar sebagai bukti..hehehe....hmm, kalu tepek kang ada org terliur lak. Tak sampai hati.... OK lah, takde mende dah nak story. tata n take care everybody.....

Makanan Minggu Ini

ntah, tak tau nak tulih apa. buntu, bingung, bengang, bengong, stuck, ngantuk, malas, geram, mengada-ngada, mcmnn expresi emosi diri di kala ini, aku sendiri pun tak tau.

hmmm... mari kita tulih pasal makanan. lama dah rasanya takdak crita pasal makanan kan!? food is my passion, ianya membawa ketenangan dan kepuasan (and of course kekenyangan dan seterusnya kegemukan jika tidak terkawal). Makanan bukanlah semata-mata benda yang dimakan secara fizikal, tetapi makanan juga mempunyai pelbagai nilai, makna dan maksud yang tersendiri. Maka apabila kita menjamah makanan, kita bukan hanya makan makanan secara materialnya, tetapi juga kita makan makna makanan... Mungkin kita akan pelajari tentang antropologi makanan dan pemakanan di episod yang lain.

OK, apa menu kita harini? Sebagai peringatan, makanan2 di bawah adalah antara makanan yang dimakan minggu ini, bukannya dimakan pada masa yang sama... tomok la kalau masak macam2 yang nak makan hanya dua setengah orang!

Gambaq yang pertama ni ialah ikan snapper stim bersama champignon dan sayoq2 lain. nasihat aku ialah toksah beli ikan snapper yang besaq2 sangat, sebab isi dia dah keras, ikan toa kot. tapi memandangkan tukang masak yang masak tu hensem dan berkaliber, tua-tua si ikan snapper, sedap jugak bila dimakan.

Gambaq kedua ni ialah kerabu parsley. apa orang melayu panggey parsley ha? tak ingat pulak. sedaap, nasib baik sini ada jugak juai nyoq parut, buleh jugak buat kerisik. kerabu kalau tak boh kerisik tak syoq. walaupun bekas dia tak cantik mana, tapi sebab orang yang potong daun parsley tu comey, mengandung pulak tu, menambahkan kesedapan bukan sahaja di tunas rasa, namun di mata dan jugak hati. Di tambah pulak dengan kaler2 bahan yang dibubuh dalam kerabu tu, meriah sungguh. Tapi kan, aku asik dok teringat makan kerabu perut minggu lepas kat rumah member, dia buat house warming. pergh... meleleh ayaq lioq. dah dah! silap2 satgi esok pagi jugak aku pi cari perut lembu.

Gambaq yang ketiga ni western sikit. Kaya dengan omega-3, rasa pun sedap sekali. ish, terlioq pulak sorang2 tengah2 malam ni. ni aku buat salmon steak ngan sos lemon yogurt (boh nama sendiri, tak tau nak panggey apa). Makanan sihat, tambah pulak makan dengan salad campoq. kenyang ooo sapa kata ratah ikan tak kenyang, cuba hangpa try tengok. tapi bahan2 dia kena kena la, kalau pi bakaq lagutu saja, paihtu pi tuang yogurt kosong tak sedap jugak. nak tau macamana? sila hantarkan sampul surat bersetem beralamat sendiri beserta money order bernilai AUD25 atas nama saya... kehkehkeh...

OKlah, sekian sahaja ruangan Makanan Minggu Ini. Sehingga bertemu lagi di lain siaran, semestinya bukan pada waktu yang sama dan tidak juga pada hari yang sama, bergantung apabila diminta oleh pengarah... hehe...

Salam Maal Hijrah....

Assalamualaikum....

Adeeehhh...lamanya tak update blog. Been quite busy this new year. Sebabnya parents datang melawat walaupun for only 10 days aje! yea yeah...syooooookkkkkknyerrrr dok bawak ketiak mama ngan abah. Hehehehe...Wan Azdie, adakah dikau rasa dipinggirkan??? Ouuhhh....jangan dong, I still like to be under your armpit, don't worry my laling :p

So Azd and I spent the whole week bercuti sakan from school. Bawak depa gi jalan2. Senang je nak bg mama hepi, bawak round shopping complex, boleh hilangkan sakit kepala dia. hahahahaha!!! Pastu hari2 makan best. I'm quite sure somebody here has gained pretty much weight, ye tak wan azdie? When it comes to say bye-bye to mama and abah, aiseh....sayu tak terkata. Kalau la boleh ikut, dan dan tu jugak nak balik Mesia. Ayaq hujan tak yah citer aaah. Mcm drama korea. Hehehe.....But anyway, will be seeing them again very soon this May. yeaah yeahh and yeaahh lagi.......


Ouuhh, lupa nak citer, Azd and I celebrated aidiladha and new year's eve kat Melbourne. It was actually an unplanned thing and we decided at the very last minute to go there. Once dah booked the hotel and sewa kereta kitorg pun laju je drive gi Melbourne.



The journey was exhausting, ye la sebab gatal sangat nak drive, hah padan muka lenguh punggung because it took us more than 10hrs drive nak sampai. But it was fun. Melbourne CBD was pretty much like in Sydney but personally I like Sydney better. Hah!! Halal food is very easy to find, no hassle about it. Met with a few familiar faces: Saiful and Nurlin and Kak Narim and her hubby Alex. Really enjoyed your company guys!

Baby scan

Hellllo everybody. I'm kinda new here. Usually my mum or dad will do the blogging but this time they said I can give it a try although I'm still very very young. And since I am sitting comfortably in my mum's womb, I cannot do the typing. So I shall say whatever I want to say outloud and my mum will be my secretary, ok?

So where do I begin? Let me tell you the day my mum had her first official scan. It was last Monday. She was so eager that she woke up verrrry early that morning (well actually I did a lot of flying kicks and that woke her up.. hahaha me very naughty!). Went to St. George Private Hospital, didn't have to wait very long to queue. My mum did a good job in making sure her bladder was full so that she can see me clearly during the scan (pity her though as she had to restrain herself from going to the toilet...what do you expect?? pregnant uterus + bladder compression = must go wee wee). So anyway, there she was, lying on the bed and exposing her belly (tak malu...but her belly is getting bigger ey?? thanks to me!!!). The lady scanner (my mum said the ultrasound technologist... hmmm whatever lah, I'm an unborn baby and I don't have my teeth yet, I must not burden myself with difficult pronounciation) was quite a chatter. She did a great job taking pictures of me posing gallantly. But I was quite mad when she exposed my sexy bon bon. Can't I have a little privacy here?? Anyway, she said I was very active turning here and there. Well, you can't expect me to sit still right? It was my chance to show off to my mum and dad. Hahahahaha..... And of course they were very proud of me, I can tell :). I was surprised that my dad was very clever in guessing my legs, hands, head, face and errr not forgetting my ttuuuuuuttt before that lady scanner could say anything. Hehehe.

The scan lasted for almost 20 mins and the lady scanner gave my mum a pic of me together with a CD. Right after the scan, she straight away went to the loo to do you-know-what. Hahaha..."baru laaa lega"..(I heard she said that). Tapi kesiaaaan, that morning she had to do frequent visits to the toilet to wee wee. My dad said "tu laaa, minum lagi ayaq banyak2..".


Hahahahaha..... Right before my dad sent my mum to her school, they stopped at McD. I guessed my mum heard me say "I want McD!! I want McD!!". Heh...so that morning I had a big breakfast: 3 pieces of hot cakes with syrup and whipped butter + hash brown. Buurrrpp.... alhamdulillah, excuse me.

Ok, I think I've done a good job blogging as a first timer. Maybe if I behave myself my mum would let me blog some more later. Yaaawwnnnn.....me tired..me need to sleep now or else me will start to kick again. Take care everybody...tata

What A Cherry Day!!!

Assalamualaikum to everybody!!! yeah...it's yours truly Elyn here. Been quite busy lately. That's why the last few posts were done by AzD. Anyway, ada banyak nak cerita but satu-satu lah.

So, hmmm...yesterday was a looooooooooooong day for us. Went to Young with a bunch of friends for cherry picking. Yup, started the trip at around 8am. Rented 4 MPVs. Took about 4 hours to get there. Along the way, the scenery was beautiful. Rasa mcm ala-ala tgk citer The Macleod's daughter ( an Aussie drama series which I myself tak teringin nak tgk pun..hehe).


By the time sampai kat Cherry Heaven Orchard tu there were heaps of people. Biasa la, gi mana2 pun ramai chinese. After the registration, everybody got themselves a bucket utk letak all the cherries yg bakal dipetik. Since there were about 26 of us (including budak2 yg tak cukup umur lagi), so kena la guna 2 pick up. Bila ramai2 dok atas ute tu rasa mcm buruh kasar la pulak. Hahahaha....

Jauh jugak la omputih tu drive bawak masuk kitorg semua dlm orchard tu. Sampai2 je kat the intended spot, we all pun dgn berkobar2 terus terkam pokok2 cherry. So bermula la kerja memetik cherry yg sungguh sopan tergantung kat pokok tu. Sambil petik sambil masuk mulut. Hehehe....Everybody had fun sampai ada tu penuh bucket with cherries. Rasanya we spent about 1 hr maybe kat orchard tu when finally the ute pun dtg nak amik buruh2 kasar ni balik.


So I think everybody brought back at least a box of cherries with them. For every kilo of buah cherry yg kitorg petik bwk balik, they charged us $6. Not bad la kot, tapi rasanya lebih kurang sama je yg jual kat fruit market tu. Lepas abis beli cherry it was time to eat. Finally!!! Lapar giler. Since everybody was allocated a certain dish to be cooked, so banyak la lauk2 yg dipreparekan. Ada ayam masak lemak, udang, sayur kangkung, daging masak kicap, ayam goreng, sambal belacan, sambal tempe, keropok and kek. Waaa..sedap betul bila makan ramai2. Tapi satu je bara, tak de Krispy Kreme. Aiseh, Dr Faisal 'terlupa' pulak nak beli ye. Nevermind, akan ku tuntut krispy kreme 2 dozen in the near future. hehehe...We all conquered the tables and chairs kat kedai orchard tu. And Azd said omputih2 yg passed by nampak pelik bila tgk kitorg semua makan pakai tangan. Hehehe.....aaah ignore them, janji kenyang beb!


Bila semua perut dah kenyang, standard la mata pun mula ngantuk. After the cherry picking we all went to the jam factory. Dah nama pun jam factory so boleh la tgk how they make cherry jam. Stop lama jugak kat area tu sebab nak solat. Right after that, we headed to Chinaman's Dam. Tempat tu biasa je, ala2 mcm garden. Ada park and a lake. By this time rasanya semua org dah exhausted sebab masa tu dah almost 6pm. So we (Kak khaz's family and the 2 of us to be exact) decided to cabut awal sebab dah takde mende pun nak buat. The rest of the gang pulak still nak melepak2.


Jadinya, there goes another 4 hrs journey back home. Banyak abis masa on the road sebab cherry pickingnya only took us about 1 hr je. Hehehe...but anyway it was a great day. But I think, next time buat cherry picking kat Woolies je. Tak payah gi jauh2. Kuang kuang kuang........
Kesimpulan cerita: Azd and I collapse dgn bersungguh2nya malam tadi sebab kepenatan, dan disebabkan penat itulah we both decided utk bagi cuti kat diri sendiri. Tak gi school....hehehe. Pemalas!!!!!

Hello baby!!

Yesterday morning we went to the early pregnancy clinic at St George hospital. Actually the story began on Saturday night, when elyn started to feel crampy pain in her tummy. What was worrying me was when she said it felt like period pain. We waited for a while, I fed her some food, sapu2 her tummy, but the pain was still there. Then we went to the ED, and it took about an hour before we could see the doctor. punya la lama tunggu, the pain just faded away slowly... By the time we went in to see the doctor, she was just fine, with just a little pain that still come and go. The doctor said he could do nothing that night, and he gave us some sort of a referral letter. We were quite busy on Monday and Tuesday that we waited until yesterday.

So yesterday morning at 8 am we went to the EP clinic, and had a chat with the lady doctor. she said the ED should have done the ultrasound scan that night just to make sure things were OK inside, and it was a viable pregnancy. So she quickly grabbed the ultrasound machine from somewhere and elyn was so happy, even though at the beginning she looked tired with no smile on her face. yelah, pagi2 memang dia camtu skang ni. Then the doctor started to scan her tummy, and we saw our baby!! it was soo amazing, the baby can now move his/her hands, we could see the limbs, and the heart beating on the screen, it looked something like this... (of course this is not our baby's pic, ntah sapa2 punya baby ntah)



everything looked normal, the doctor told us. and we were relieved. the pain might come and go sometimes for some people. we just need to pray to Allah, may everything will be smooth and easy for us....

The actual ultrasound scan appointment will be in January next year. It is when the doctor will measure the baby and predict the actual gestational week, and when the due date is, more accurately. If possible, i'll upload the clip here then.

Hmm... should we look for the gender of the baby, or shouldn't we? what do you think...

its getting warmer

The weather is getting weird, crazy here.... (macam orang2 dia jugak la). Just imagine, in one day, there were places with snow, bush fire, cold & windy and warm! these places are not too far from each other, all in the state of NSW and within hours drive from sydney (not too sure how far).. Last week it was cold and windy in Sydney, 16oC, the coldest day of spring they said, while summer is just around the corner. And this week the weather forecast shows that the temperature will go above 30oC. They say it is the impact of global warming, I don’t know if anybody here ever thought ini adalah petanda dari Allah. Another related thing, the latest tourist attraction close to NZ ocean, there is a big ice berg wandering in the sea, believed to be one of the broken pieces drifted from the Antartic. Scary isn’t it, if you really think back, and muhasabah diri kita, we are hopeless and nobody without the blessing and help from Allah… May Allah protect us and make it easy for us...

wanita dan malu

Biasa kita mendengar, lelaki diistilahkan sebagai kumbang dan wanita pula sebagai bunga. Kalau kumbang suka kepada bunga, lelaki tentulah suka kepada wanita. Sejak remaja lagi keinginan lelaki kepada wanita sudah berputik. Lalu wanita menjadi sasaran usikan lelaki, baik di sekolah, di jalan-jalan raya, di pasar raya, di perhentian bas dan bahkan boleh dikatakan di mana-mana ruang dan peluang. Selagi usikan itu tidak diberi perhatian oleh wanita itu mereka akan terus mencuba dan terus mencuba.

Apakah keistimewaan wanita sehingga begitu kuat menarik perhatian lelaki? Sememangnya wanita lain daripada lelaki, terdapat banyak kelainannya.Dalam sebuah hadis, Nabi S.A.W bersabda yang bermaksud: "Terdapat 99 bahagian tarikan pada wanita berbanding lelaki, lalu Allah kurniakan ke atasmereka sifat malu." (Hadis riwayat Baihaqi)

Wanita, apapun yang dilakukannya akan mendapat perhatian lelaki, kalau dia berbuat baik, dikagumi, apabila berbuat jahat diminati, apabila dia memakai pakaian menutup aurat dilihat menawan, apabila berpakaian tidak menutup aurat (seksi) dilihat menggoda, dan macam-macam lagi yang menarikperhatian.Oleh sebab itu Allah S.W.T. mengurniakan kepada wanita sifat malu. Dengan sifat malu itu mereka akan berfikir panjang sebelum melakukan sebarangtindakan. Kalau hendak buat jahat dia akan memikirkan kalau-kalau orang nampak, hendak dedahkan aurat dia takut orang mengganggunya, hendak berjalan seorang dia takut ada orang mengusiknya.Begitulah peranan malu yang boleh membantu dalam tindak-tanduk seorang wanita.

Tapi apa halnya kalau tidak tahu malu? Tentulah mereka tidak akan memikirkan semua itu. Pedulikan apa orang kata, pedulikan kalau orang nampak, tak kisah kalau orang mengganggu dan mengusik, bahkan mereka rasa senang, seronok dan bahagia bila dalam keadaan begitu.

Dalam sebuah hadis riwayat Bukhari, Nabi S.A.W. bersabda yang bermaksud: "Jika kamu tidak malu, buatlah sesuka hatimu."Hadis ini merupakan sindiran dalam tegahan. Sifat malu itu adalah pokok akhlak yang mulia dan budi pekerti yang terpuji. Tidak perlu diletakkan sifat malu ini di atas neraca akal pun sudah mengakui sebagai suatu sifat yang perlu ada pada diri manusia.

Barangkali wanita hari ini kebanyakkannya tidak malu atau kurang malu sebab itu mereka sanggup melakukan apa saja dosa dan maksiat.Atau barangkali jika sifat malu yang dikurniakan Allah itu sudah tidak berfungsi sepenuhnya. Kalau demikian, bererti tiada iman di dada mereka.Jelasnya, mereka tidak takut kepada Allah, tidak gerun kepada neraka Allah dan tidak cinta kepada syurga Allah. Mereka langsung tidak takut dengan hukuman yang bakal Allah timpakan ke atas mereka. Ini tandanya mereka tiada iman.Apabila tidak beriman, maka sifat malu yang sedia ada itu secara automatik akan hilang.

Inilah realiti yang tidak boleh dinafikan, buktinya boleh dilihat di mana-mana. Melalui media cetak seperti majalah dan sebagainya, media elektronik seperti rancangan-rancangan hiburan dan bahkan di hadapan mata kita sendiri berbagai ragam dan kemungkaran berlaku, tidak berkecuali dilakukan oleh wanita.Sayang, wanita yang sepatutnya lebih istimewa daripada lelaki menjadi serendah-rendahnya hanya disebabkan sifat malunya tidak berfungsi sepenuhnya.Tapi percayalah, kalau semua wanita boleh mengekalkan sifat malunya tentulah mereka akan berpakaian sopan, berakhlak mulia dan ketika itu mereka akan disegani oleh semua pihak. Dengan ini akan terhindarlah gejala buruk yang menimpa kaum wanita.

It's November 2nd today and guess what!! It's my MAMA's birthday!!! Happy birthday to youuuuu...happy birthday to youuuu....happy birthday to youuuu...happy birthday to youuuu..... Azd and I would like to wish our beloved mama a very happy birthday. Semoga panjang umur dan murah rezeki sokmo. May Allah shower His continuous blessing to you mama...Thanks for everything.

Aidil Fitri 1427h

Salam Aidil Fitri 1427h. Bagi umat islam di Sydney, hari ni adalah hari raya keempat, manakala di Malaysia hari raya ketiga.

This is the second hari raya elyn and I celebrated in Australia. Last year we celebrated hari raya in Wollongong and this year we are in Sydney. We went to Malaysia Hall for Aidilftri prayer at 7am on Monday. After that, there was a small jamuan under a big tent. Actually the tent was prepared for the following night when a minister from JPM came for an open house. After the jamuan, we went to a friend's house in Eastlakes. Then we went home to have a rest while reheating the dishes. After Asar prayer, we went out again straight to En Naza's house for Laksa, then Ridwan's for Nasik Minyak and the last one En Zainal's for nasi ayam. All the food were very nice!! I kept telling myself once I've finished my plate, I musn't eat at the next house, but I failed... It seems like I can eat and eat and eat more and more on that day... We were back home at around 11 pm.

The second hari raya, we cooked Soto Ayam together with whatever food available at home, such as rendang, kuah kacang and nasik impit. Friends came to our house. K.Sam and the gang from Wollongong also stopped by and enjoyed the food.

Then we went to K.Khaz place in Bankstown before we headed to the Malaysia Hall for the open house. There were toooo many people that elyn and I just lined up for the satay, as other dishes were not in the list of our targeted food. Anyway the Raya environment was there with people wearing national costumes, thank god it is no longer winter.

Above all, I really missed my hometown. It will never be the same celebrating Hari Raya without family members no matter how big and meriah the celebration here in Sydney. I wish I can go home next year. Furthermore, we can go back next year since they've made us promise not to come back untill there are three of us. So insyaAllah if possible we will go back for Raya next year, tapi tak janji tau...

Ramadhan is leaving us....

Salam to everybody....yup the title says it all. Tak sampai lagi seminggu je nak habis Ramadhan. Sedih pulak rasa. Next week raya, Insya Allah. So apa projek di hari raya? Tukar curtain?? New furniture?? buat kuih raya??? hahaha... yoooo la tuh. Berangan je la. Rasa mcm nak buat kuih raya. Last year dok gentel kuih arab je. Tak de buat kuih lain. Hahaha... Tahun ni tak tau nak buat kuih apa pulak. Kalu suruh post kuih all the way from mesia, confirm dapat serdak je. Ye la benda fragile. Orang kapal terbang ni mesti main baling2 je kotak kuih tu kang. Isk..isk..isk... Silap2 haribulan touch up balang kuih cantik2, pastu beli butter cookies je. Hahahaha... Semalam dah jumpa kedai Indon best kat Lakemba. Dah scanned semua jenis kerepek2 yg ada. Boleh la isi dalam balang nanti. Bijak bijak...

La ni Azd dok busy download lagu raya..kesian dia dok srooot srroott kesyahduan. Tapi dia download lagu raya versi happy2 je, takut kang kalu version sedih...maka bersedih lah dia. Masuk tahun ni dah 2 tahun tak balik raya kat Mesia ngan family tercinta... waaaaa.... very the sedih. Bestnyer kalu boleh naik bus je balik mesia......ala mcm KL-Seremban ke KL-tepeng ke..
OK la...nanti sambung lagi. Dah start mengarut dah ni...maklumlah hypo...ahaks!!

A tribute to a friend......

Assalamualaikum to everybody.... sedar tak sedar dah 2 minggu kita puasa. Rasa kejaaaap je. Alhamdulillah, so far so good. Still able to continue on fasting. Hehehe...altho the nausea is still there on and off tapi takde la teruk sgt.

Anyway, for my entry this time I would like to say something about a friend who had just passed away yesterday. I wasn't that close to him. But we did our housemanship together in Hospital Taiping. He was a good person. Never had any problems working with him. Above all, I was impressed by his spirit and strength. You see, he had this blood disorder which required him to have frequent blood transfusions. Thalassemia major to be exact. I remembered when I was doing my oncall one day, he admitted himself for a blood transfusion. Kesian dia, nampak penat ngan pucat je. Tapi sempat buat lawak lagi malam tu. Hmm...Having the illness didn't stop him from being a good doctor. I think he lived his life to the fullest and i'm sure his family are very proud of him.

So when I received the msg from Faisal and Ucu last week saying that he was admitted to the ICU and already on vent support, I was really shocked and sad. Kalau we all ada kat Mesia, mesti dah pergi melawat dia. Tapi apakan daya, hanya mampu berdoa dari jauh je. I sort of knew how his story would ended and I was right when I finally got a msg yesterday morning saying that he had passed away. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'un.....

Semoga ALLAH mencucuri rahmat ke atas arwah Dr. Marhizal Azmin Marsuki dan semoga arwah ditempatkan di kalangan orang2 yang beriman. Apa2 pun bak kata ucu, Marhizal beruntung sebab pergi pada hari jumaat, penghulu segala hari dan dalam bulan ramadhan, penghulu segala bulan....

Betul la kata orang, kalau tak tau takpe, bila dah tau.....

Since Elyn knew that she is having a baby in her tummy, she starts to feel dizzy, nausea, wind in the stomach (angin la tu) and some other changes. And as a goooood husband, I have to be patient and really take a good care of her. Really hope that she will not ask anything weird or something that is not available here or crazy expensize stuff... hehehe...

OK, last Saturday we went to Malaysian Hall for bukak puasa. It was sponsored by TDC (Tourism Malaysia). FYI, every weekend i.e. every Saturday and Sunday, MyHall will be organizing bukak puasa program, sponsored by various parties. Kak S came down all the way from Wollongong to join us, as this is her last Ramadhan in Australia. We arrived in MyHall around 5.40pm, still not many people there so we managed to park our car in the compound. Elyn was holding her breath all the way from Penshurst to Randwick as she said that the Minyak Attar that I am wearing made her feel loya. kuang3X. Not only minyak attar, I can't even wear perfume anymore nowadays... :p...

We break our fast with porridge, then after Maghrib prayer we had nasi beriyani, if i'm right. Sedap, but sadly no nasi tambah. Anyway, some people managed to get extra plate [elyn, you know who ;)]. After isya prayer we continued with Tarawih, leaded by MA. Yeah, the environment was there, meeting friends and having meals together, silap tak makan dalam talam jer. I don't think everybody can eat from the same tray with 6-7 other people, rice with flooded curry gravy, coz they feel 'geli', but I enjoyed it. We used to do that when I was in UKMKL.

Then the next day, elyn and I invited some friends to break the fast at our place. We made pulut kuning with beef rendang, and nasi tomato with chicken curry and jelatah. The curry was a lil bit diluted, i don't know why. Maybe because Kak S was there watching kot.. hehheh... Elyn made the cream caramel, which was nice, and bubur pulut itam that turned very thick when it was time to break the fast. Kak K cooked a delicious pasta with mixed seafood, came with her hubby and beautiful kids. Friends from wollongong also came bringing with them chocolate cake and bread pudding. M & H arrived a bit late bringing with them Michel's apple pie, yummy! but all these food are my food (except the choc cake) as elyn a lil bit 'kureng' with all these sweet stuff. High energy food + low activity level = obesity... but I cant just look at it lying in the fridge! i need to eat it and finish it, right elyn?? Maka kerugian lah bagi mereka-mereka yang tidak dapat hadir itu...

AHLAN YAA RAMADHAN!!!

Ramadhan datang lagi. semoga Ramadhan kali ini lebih bermakna buat kita semua. Kepada kawan2 yang menyambut Ramadhan di luar negara, betapa kita merindui suasana bulan puasa di kampung halaman....

berbuka ramai2 di Masjid; solat terawih; selain melantak masa Moreh... hehehe... silap2 bukan lose weight, tapi nasik lagi ada. Mana tak nye, hampir setiap hari makan naik minyak, nasi tomato, beriyani dll. tapi sekali sekala kena nasik putih dengan gulai ikan kering, sambal tumis, ulam, fuhhh!! terangkat. Aku teringat lagi ada sorang pakcik ni bawak buah geduak (aku tak ingat org negeri lain panggil apa), geng2 buah jering la, lagi 'harum' dari jering, masa bukak posa kat masjid... kehkehkeh... Pastu ada satu pakcik lagi, geng meja bapak aku gak, hari2 bawak teh halia dalam cerek tembaga comel dia... dan banyak lagi la nostalgia. Ni semua masa aku sekolah rendah.

Masuk form one, dah mula dok asrama. Bukak posa kat asrama memang tak dapat dilupakan... Sekolah aku ni sekolah bantuan kerajaan negeri, jadi makan tak la hebat mcm MRSM ke SBP lain ke. Masa aku form one susah sekali nak makan lauk ayam, yang paling kerap ikan jaket, yang macam dah kena tembak... bulan2 puasa ni la nak merasa lauk sedap2 sebab ramai orang bagi makan untuk berbuka. Pastu dah masuk form 3 baru ada lauk ayam, seminggu 2 kali je. Parents aku selalu gak datang hantar lauk, ye la Kuala Kangsar-Taiping bukannyer jauh mana pun. Kalau hari outing, pegi la Pasar Ramadhan kat tepi sungai perak. Masa tu takde dataran yg baru macam yg ada sekarang ni. So jalan tu tutup la untuk pasar ramadhan. Meriah betol... macam2 kuih makanan ada... cendol Kuala, slurrrp!!!

pastu form four kat Klang, bosan sikit sebab kena control ngan senior. Naik form five happening habiss... SBP, so makan best la hari2. Tak cukup dengan makanan kat dewan makan, pegi jalan kat taman2 sekeliling tu yang ada pasar ramadhan. Kat jalan kota raja tu banyak jualan. Tapi masa tu duit tak banyak, budok skoloh kan, so beli pun berpada2 la. Yang best tu kongsi makan ramai2 la, terasa ukhuwwah yang rasanya susah nak dapat dah bila dah besar macam ni. Waktu malam lepas terawih makan lagi, ikut la kalau yang derma tu org kaya best2 la makanan dia, kadang tu kuih and biskut jer. Pastu yang paling terkesan di hati sampai sekarang ialah suasana di waktu Qiam kat surau... ntah la, mungkin biah solehah yang diamalkan kat sekolah ada memberi impak secara spiritual. Susah nak rasa perasaan macam tu sejak dah habis sekolah. Ceramah/tazkirah hari2 ada... Bagi mereka yang rajin mengutip 'mutiara-mutiara' indah dan berharga, bulan Ramadhan memang masanya. Inilah antara musim yang terindah di Bumi Wakafan...

Dah masuk UKM lain pulak caranya, ye lah dah pakai kereta, langkah pun jauh le. Selain makan kat cafe Wahid, biasanya pegi beli makan kat Jalan Raja Alang. Aku ngan kawan2 buat group, kutip duit dan buat giliran sapa kena pegi beli. Ada member bawak periuk nasik, so pegi beli lauk je lah... BEst nyer nasik kerabu, laksam, ikan keli, kuih tepung pelita, ayam percik... ah banyak lagi lah kang korang boring lak nak baca. Pastu bila dah bercouple kadang2 bukak posa kat kedai, tak pun beli makanan kat Velodrom Bdr Tun Razak. Terawih kat merata tempat; masjid Kg Baru, Pulapol, HKL dan yang best masjid KLCC, sebab ada aircond. Pastu yg best lagi kedai makan bukak 24jam masa bulan posa.

Bila terkenang semua ni, betapa bertuahnya kita kat Malaysia kan. Kat sini, jangan harap nak jumpa kedai makan bukak 24jam (pub & hotel ada la)... Pasar Ramadhan jauh sekali... Uwaa!!!Buat kawan-kawan yang dah balik, ingat2 la kitorang yang jauh ni.

SALAM RAMADHAN AL-MUBARAK buat semua... Semoga amal ibadah kita dilakukan dengan penuh keikhlasan dan diterima serta diberkati Allah...

Before ramadhan....

Hiyaaa.....it's not even 24H yet and I'm writing a new entry for this blog. Hahaha, I have some spare time, so why not write something, kan? At home right now. Planning to do some readings today (gee...i hope!!). Tapi rumah nampak mcm bersepah, so probably will do the cleaning up first. Have to go to school tomorrow to do some paraffin sectioning.

Anyhow, last Sunday Azd and I went to The Rock Market. It was just like any ordinary market (tp bukan market basah tu ye). So a lot of stuffs can be found there, a great place for tourists to take a peek. Ingatkan nak gi makan the famous pancake kat The Rock tu but we had lunch appointment kat rumah kak zurin. So in the end makan ice cream Copenhagen aje (devil's choc with boisenberry ice-cream). Best best.



After 1 something, went straight to Kak Zurin's house in Eastlakes. She and Abg Lan invited the PG students for a doa selamat (probably sebab allowance naik, hehe). There was still quite a number of people when we got there. Of course la, lunch hour. And the food....maaaaak aihh best giler. Macam-macam ada. From satay, gulai ayam, sambal belacan, kerabu, rojak buah, ayam bakar, etc to all sorts of kuih. Penuh sgt sampai tak nampak meja! Hahahaha.....And the kids were having fun as well running here and there kat depan rumah. Rasa mcm hari raya je!!! It was actually a pot luck kinda thing. So we brought fresh cream choc cake and butter cake ke apa ntah because we didn't have time to prepare anything.

All in all, it was a great day. Met some old faces as well as the newbies. Ni baru pre raya, kalu time raya betul2 mesti meriah.....aarghhh..bestnyer kalu boleh balik mesia terchintos!!!!!!

MAS Annual Dinner 2006

Halo everybody, I'm back... hehehe. Harini nak story about the annual dinner last saturday. Basically the dinner was so and so. Initially planned to go to wollongong after Asar but then went to Centro nak cari baju wan azdie. hehehehe.... Last2, keluar rumah at around 6pm. Azd pun memecut kereta dgn bersungguh2 sebab nak sampai on time. Maklumlah, org nak kena baca doa. Bila tanya nak baca doa apa, ada ke dia jawab doa lepas nikah. Tak senonoh betul!!!

Ok so when we arrived kat corrimal community center orang pun dah ramai dah kat entrance tu. We sat together with kak sam, noor, mashita and hubby, shakira, as and hubby and another 3 more unidentified guys.

The community hall was somewhat sempit compared to the usual place kat TAFE. But anyhow, that evening was a full house (actually dimeriahkan dgn ramai indons, hehehe). When everybody has taken their seats, the majlis pun bermulalah. Sad to say the MCs sgtlah bosan and nampak mcm kelam kabut. Ada ke patut start2 je majlis dia terus panggil Tuan Hj Musa MSD bg speech. Tak tgk program ke awang?? Bukan ke kena start with the doa recital dulu? Pastu baru ter errr...errr...ceh. After a while, baru dia panggil Azd baca doa.


Performance for that nite was by Buk and Alina. Ntah brapa lagu depa nyanyi ntah. Best tu best la tapi rasa mcm kat pub (pinjam ayat noor). Hehehehe. Pastu aiseh... ada belly dancing pulak. Hmmm.. at first I was like "is this the malaysian nite or the arabian night??". Perrghh, gelek habis2an minah tu tapi nasib baik the light was dim so tak nampak sgt perut dia. hahahahaha....And then it was time to eat! Finally.
The lauk2 for buffet were:
nasi minyak
ayam masak merak
sayur dalca
daging apa ntah
nasi impit
satay (which sadly was limited to ONLY 4 sticks per person)
kuah kacang
air bandung
kuih bakar (sapa ntah potong kecik2 sampai as kata lekat celah gigi je..hahahaha, kesian si ibu mengandung tu!)

Last year I remembered the meals were served although it was a buffet kinda thing as well, which was good because everybody got their share fair and square. This time it was like sapa dulu dia untung.. (kitorg la tu sebab meja very the strategic, dekat2 ngan buffet table). Hahaha...buuuuut we all takde la amik lauk sampai tak ingat dunia. Still ada conscience la not like some yg amik ayam sampai berketul2..kesian to those yg last2 tu. Apa2 pun, memang kenyang la makan. hehehehe.

Adehh..malas lak nak tulis. So basically to keep things short:
1. We went there sebab dah bayar for the ticket.................tapi hampeh tak dapat lucky draw!!
2. Part makan..................alhamdulillah kenyang tp kalu dpt unlimited satay lagi best, hahaha.
3. Jumpa kengkawan kat wollongong.......................posing habis2an.
4. Everybody won the trivia thing (ye la, soalan senang giler).................so everybody got this gold coins choc as a reward (ala, cekelat duit tu.So had a scene from nujum pak belalang with noor: "satu utk ko..satu utk aku..." hehehe)
4. Berjaya mencilok lilin2 atas meja......................penting di saat takde electricity in the future. heh!

Aiseh, banyak lak citer. hahaha..Maklum lah supervisor takde for 2 weeks. Sangat syok bebeh. Boleh rilek2. Oh by the way, to whom it may concern, that kedai halal in the sydney CBD --> coco's island ke apa ntah dah takde. Found out yesterday when I was on my way to DIMIA (I walked from the uni to the city..hehehe. Kagum!). Ok people.... to be continued!

Jalan-jalan cari makangggg.....

Assalamualaikummmm everybody!!!! yeaaahhh...It has been a loooooong time since our last update ey?? Dah sebulan lebeh yek? Sorry la...Very the busy and buat2 busy.



Anyway, azd's parents have gone back to mesia . Sob sob..No more home cook meal yg sedap2 for us. Nowadays, kena masak banyak2 terus and carry forward je lauk2 tu everytime balik from school. Bijak bijak. But apa2 pun, it has been a great 1 month sebab kitorg gi jengjalan bersungguh-sungguh to merata tempat sampai ke Canberra. So memang puas hati la depa datang holiday sebulan. Sampai sakit2 la kaki... hehehehe. Apa lagi ek nak citer? Hmmm...Banyak actually nak story mory tapi nanti2 lah citer. Kang tulis semua jadi novel bersiri pulak. Ahaks!

OK, today is Saturday. Yeeaahh!!! Has been always anticipated the weekends..Everytime hari jumaat je, bila dah petang tu mula la tak leh dok diam.. Asyik terpikir nak balik umah je... Cannot concentrate kat lab dah. Buruk la perangai. Even the mice yg melompat2 tu pun have no fatal attraction at all to me. Hahahahaha....hmm..maybe I should tepek gambar2 mice ni one day. Yeah..One day, before i sacrifice them. la la la la...Or would you guys want to see the pics when i open them up??? hehehehe

Will be going to Wollongong tonite to attend MAS UoW Annual Dinner at Corrimal Community Center. Maybe i'll be wearing kebaya tonite (awww....). Azd will be the Pak Haji reciting the doa for the ceremony. Amiiinn.... Anyway, Kak Sam kata lauk for tonite will probably mcm last year. We shall wait and see.

OOhh, by the way, last week Tok Pa from MHE came to australia to meet all the malaysian students. But we weren't able to go because had some stuffs to do. Pity tok pa didnt have the chance to meet us. Satu kerugian. Kalu tak buleh lawan2 kecek kelate..hehehe.. Silap2 allowance naik triple! Cayalah!!! Apa2 pun alhamdulillah la sebab setelah sekian lama, at last allowance dah ada increment. kayo kayo!!!

Apa lagi nak citer..haaa...Nowadays Azd and I are doing our own version of jalan2 cari makan. Have been trying out kat some of the halal food outlets listed in the PPMS website. The chinese restaurant aka Great Wall Kitchen at Lakemba wasn't that bad. In fact we first went there bila Sam's family belanja for dinner a couple of months ago. Terima kasih daun keladi!! The food was nice but the service was slow though. Nama je chinese restaurant tp ada some mix of indian cooking as well, hehehe ada jual nan, paratha, tikka, lassi and etc. Harga standard la kat sydney ni. Acceptable. Nasi padang kat lakemba pun OK jugak. For $7, you get to choose 3 lauk. So puas hati la makan. Then we tried thai food pulak. First was at Bankstown. What was the name of that place again? hmm..Thai Hutt Restaurant. Busy jugak area Bankstown tu, ramai pak arab. Had Chilli Basil Noodle (ye kot), Pad Thai Noodle something and tom yam. Sadly enough the pad thai did not satisfy my taste bud. I didn't finish it and terpaksa tapau (which in the end esoknya azd yg habiskan hahahaha). Dia bab makan sedap je semua. By the way mamat yg menapaukan the left over for me tu macam muka mamat india kat malaysia. hehehe.... Anyway, the tom yam was OK although kalu dia bg dlm mangkuk besar sket lagi best. Deco dlm restaurant tu memang cantik. Classy gitu. And by the way the cashier (or was it the boss???) was a pak arab. How multicultured!! hehehehehhe...

Last kedai we went 3 days ago was Pu Tai Thai Restaurant kat Ashfield. A bit complicated nak cari this place sebab tercoroooot sket. Malam pulak tuh. Tak nampak mcm kedai sgt. Kecik and sempit and nampak mcm antique. hehehe. Nak masuk pun susah, sebab entrance door ketat. Mcm tak nak bagi masuk je...
This time ordered Green Curry Vege and Po Tak (sepupu sepapat tom yam). Entree : 1 fish cake + 1 popiah (best lg aku buat) + 1 karipap (again best lg aku buat) + 2 fried dumplings (ni tak reti nak buat tp kalu reti buat mesti lagi sedap) + chilli sauce + grated carrot = $6. So I reckon semua tu agak2 $1 each and the sauce ngan carrot tu 50sen each. Disebabkan harga $6, so even the very last bit of the grated carrot tu kitorg songlap. hahahahaha. Licin pinggan. Pastu bila main course sampai, alangkah terkejutnya jiwa (takde kene mengena ngan khalid mohd jiwa aaa...tak kuasa) melihat saiz mangkuk ayun tomyam tu. Cinonet je. Terus tak terkata wan azdie. I see you, you see me. hahahahahaa. Kemut nak mampus kedai ni!! Tak sedap (tp azd kata boleh la). Harapkan udang je besar. The green curry vege tu rasa mcm masak lemak kacang je. Dia letak kacang pjg, broccoli and carrot. Mula2 ingatkan gravy dia kaler hijau (because of the name), tp actually kaler kuning. So yg menghijaukannya is the sayur-sayur. Hehehehehe. Disebabkan lapaq, so habis licin semua tu even the nasik.
Conclusion I: This kedai is out of my list. Sekian terima kasih.

Haaa...ada lagi 2 kedai nak citer. Hmmphh...Kan dah panjang dah. Baca.. baca.. sila lah baca...
This time we went there masa parents Azd still kat sini. Kat area Randwick (area malaysia hall). Nama kedai: Taste of Thai. First time pegi last year with Hazman, Firdaus (yg dah ada cewek!! Awww..sudah pandai tepek gambar kat friendster yer??! hehehe) and Kausa. Memang best!!!!!! portion besar giler. puas hati mak kiah!
This time went for dinner beramai2. Dr Zit and family belanja. Thank you. Kenyang perut suka hati. The place was as usual, very crowded with people. Nasib baik Dr Zit book awal2, so senang dpt tempat. Kalau tak, terpaksa beratur kat luar tunggu turn. Hmmm... mcm kat hard rock cafe la pulak. hehehehe.

Then another kedai we went for lunch : Kaki Lima Restaurant in Kingsford. This kedai belongs to Kak Sam punya kawan. Masa sampai tu ramai jugak org. We ordered chicken rice, nyonya laksa and assam laksa (pergghh...lama giler tak pekena laksa!). and also not forgetting teh tarik. Hahahahaa. Best best. Abah ngan mama kata sedap. . Sebab mmg dah lapar giler masa tu. Banyak betul makan. Nasib baik berat ada naik sikit. hahahahaha. suka suka!!!
Conclusion II: Ada banyak port utk makan2 in case bulan puasa ni tak sempat atau malas nak masak. muakakakakakaka......tak gitu wahai suami??? *wink wink*

So begitu lah kitorg nyer version of jalan2 cari makan. memang syok! duit pun lajuuuu je mcm air. Tapi tak pe. Allowance naik kan. Hehehehehhehehehe.
Esok pun makan lagi. Pot luck kat rumah kak zurin kat Eastlake. Tak tahu nak masak apa. Nanti lah pikir. Esok masih ada.
OK la kengkawan yg dihormati dan dikasihi sekalian. Penat sekali jari jemari delicate ini menekan2 keyboard. Maka dengan ini I want to go bersantai sebentar.
