Anak

It happened again!
But this time, alhamdulillah the baby was found alive!
The immorality of these people nowadays...
They ought to be shot dead! hanged alive!
Why do they do such a thing?
Haishhh...... sedihnya bila baca paper, tgk berita kat tv
Hari-hari ada je berita kemalangan maut
Hari-hari pasal baby kena buang
Dah pandai 'buat', pandai pulak buang2.... mcm anak patung
Nak buang pulak, pilih tempat2 yg jijik..
nak 'up' sket, pegi buang kat masjid...
Binatang pun pandai sayang anak...
Ni pulak manusia yg ada otak, tapi tak pakai...
Ada hati, tapi busuk sebusuk-busuknya...
Kalau dah terpreggy, jgn la dibuang baby tu... sebusuk2 hati pun, serah la kat JKM ke, kat orang ke...
Kat luar tu, berapa ramai org yg nak anak, tapi takde rezeki....

Tetiba teringat zaman houseman kat Taiping dulu....
Was doing my oncall one day in the labour room.
Came a young girl, heavily pregnant, and in labour.
After the routine history taking and examinations, took her to the labour room.
Later I found out that she was merely 16 yo, had run away from home, came to the hospital with her 'aunty'.
The 'aunty' had already contacted JKM to take away the baby once delivered.
So there she was, in pain. Crying and shouting... Once a while she would call out "mak" when the contraction peaked.
When it eased off, I asked if her husband came along. She said there was no husband. Never was.
And that after the delivery, she wouldn't want to have any connection with the baby.
Sigh.
She had an uneventful delivery. It was a healthy baby girl.
But sadly the young mother refused to look, to hold the baby, even for a second....
She turned away, acting like nothing had happened. Kept asking when can she be discharged.
As if the long 10 hrs of labour pain had meant nothing.
Ya Allah.... I was speechless.
That was 7 years ago... the baby would be all grown up.. and would be in Std 1 this year.
I pray for her well being... Hopefully she is in good hands.
But what become of the mother?
